Winter 2009/2010

December 5 - first snowfall of the winter - just a dusting

The front yard at mid day

This is the shot of the front yard Friday morning after the snow finished last night.  They are saying about 3 inches total.

The photo above shows our lake covered in snow
This is our third winter in NE Alabama.  Not much snow falls here and past snows have melted almost immediately but this one will be around for a time - highs are only going to be in the teens and twenties the next few days.  We'll hit the single digits for a couple of nights.

It's been a long time since I've had a "snow" day - since I was a kid.  It was actually really fun to watch it fall and accumulate.  I even tried to make a snowman but the snow was too dry and fluffy.
